Łódź - an industrial city built from the ground up as a textile manufacturing hub, where old factory buildings, now past their industrial splendor, get a new life. One of such former factories now houses Focus Hotel Łódź. Once a wool spinning factory, now a restored and modern hotel that offers comfortable accommodation at an attractive price. The 3-star Hotel Focus is located in the very center of the city: 1.5 km from the railway station, 5.6 km from the airport and a 10-minute walk from the main Piotrkowska street and the Exhibition Center. There is a large, above-ground car park with up to 90 parking spaces.
Juliusz Kindermann was the son of the famous industrialist Franciszek Kindermann, the owner of a large woolen factory. In 1892, he established his own factory producing cotton fabrics. The front building received an impressive form, which with its powerful towers with battlements resembled defensive construction. In the middle of the facade there is the date of construction and the monogram of Juliusz Kindermann.
In 1938, on October 1, there was a fire in the factory. Due to the serious danger, three fire platoons arrived at the site. The fire started in a warehouse on cotton shelves. The causes of the fire have not been explained. After 1945, the factory was nationalized and was named after the 1st Kościuszko Division. Production was discontinued around 1996. Some of the rooms were intended for wholesalers and warehouses. Currently, the facility is entered in the register of monuments.
